Question about overbite and braces?

Most likely they will start you off on the top only and fir you with an expander. With an expander(it sounds painful but it's not) you usually have a friend or parent crank it once per day. Over time this will move your jaw more into alignment. After that, they will put braces on the bottom as well and set you up for rubber bands.
