If the Framers/Founders opposed "taxation without representation", why did they tax women, all races, & kids?

The "Founding Fathers" of the United States and the "Framers" of its Constitution were supposedly opposed to "taxation without representation". However, only free adult white males were entitled to vote. Children, slaves, women, and other races could not. Why were they not made exempt from tax?
