How do i fix my teeth?!?

im 14 and I have about a centimeter gap in my front teeth. I can't stand it! No one really makes fun of me for it but it bothers me more then anything. My mom says I don't need braces but I want them so so so sooo badly or ANYTHING to fix this. Do you think an orthodontist would put them on? or is there something else? PLEASE HELP?!
