This vulnerable baby/child is that me?

I have recurring dreams of protecting a baby/small child however i know they understand things a young baby/child couldn't possibly understand yet they never speak, only smile at me but their facial features are blurred and oddly irrelevant.I feel this immense connection with them, it's as if they know everything. I was wondering, is this some representation of myself? What does it mean?
