Am I too old to begin taking Air Traffic Control classes?

I am 25 years old and I will be 26 in August. I am interested in taking classes to be an Air Traffic Controller. This is a 4 year program and when I finish I will be 30. I understand that if I reach my 31st birthday the FAA will not hire me. Which will only give me 1 year to do what I need to do. Of course right now I don't know everything that will be required of me so that's why I'm asking you guys. WIll this be a waste of my time to even take these classes? And if I do take these classes, reach my 31st birthday and it is too late to become an Air Traffic Controller what else can I use my degree for?
