I'm getting braces for the first time! Help!!?

I'm 14 and I have a baby tooth that needs to be pulled, but the adult tooth behind that is coming in crooked. So, I need braces! I only have to get braces on my upper teeth. Can I get any advice for colors, pain level, and anything else that can help me? I'm really nervous about this.
