Question about background checks?

Danny is about to work at the FAA Building but he needs to wait now for his background check to come back.I want to ask How long is it going to take for it to come back? I heard 6 months and if that's the case, then Danny will be driving me crazy for way too long because he will be out of work until he starts his job.
