My child has another 8 months left with braces but we are moving, will another ortho be able to take over?

We were thinking of flying back and forth but with the cost of airfare it may not be reasonable. If we find another ortho across the country will they be able to finish the braces and will they charge the same as if we had just started with them from scratch even though she's almost done and her teeth are looking good now.
