How long does it take for an Air Traffic Controller to be hired?

My fiance graduated from beaver community college with atc degree in may 2010. He got a 98 on his atc exam and now we are waiting for him to be called by the faa for a job. Does anyone know how long it is taking to get to oklahoma city? Originally we were thinking about 6 months to a year and a half, but now we are guessing over 2 years?? Is there anything he should be doing? He applied and chose his two states (pa and ohio) Does anyone have any current information? Any would be appreciated. Thanks!
