How can a Texas driver defer a speeding ticket in Washington state?
I got a speeding ticket in seattle area. I live in TX. I am going back to home in a few days. Is there anywsy to get this ticket deferred from Texas? I am not planning to cone back to WA anytime soon. If I just pay the ticket ($113 for +5 over limit), how many points will I loose? I guess this will eventually shiw up in my TX record. Is there any way to get this ticket deferred without court hearing with my presence, as I cannot come fron TX all the way to Seattle area for court hearing for a speeding ticket. Does hiring a traffic lawyer make sense in my case? They asked for $250-$300 for their representation. Is it wirth to hire one? If I just pay the ticket and let it go on my records, would insurance company (Geico) increase my rates? I otherwise have a clean record.
